This Is Country is a magazine created for distribution by local radio stations. Created on a quarterly or semi-annually basis, this magazine offers articles about today’s biggest country stars, album reviews and a way to meet artists you should know about.

The magazine always features different artists on the front cover, and photo editing is needed to make sure the magazine title isn’t interfering with the photograph’s subject.

Every story requires different styles of formatting. Color and font choices are made based on photographs featured in the stories.

Adjusting text to fit the pages allotted for the feature can present some interesting challenges. Rearranging photos and adjusting different aspects of the type are all things I have to use to make everything fit.

Feature title fonts are chosen based on the artists’ own branding and gives each story it’s own look.

Space is left on the bottom of pages for advertising sold by the radio stations. Whole and half pages are also left available so different ad sizing can be made available.
